Creating connections that heal

We are a social enterprise

First and foremost, MCTS is a Social Enterprise. We’re not profit-driven: we exist to reinvest into providing better care for the people we work with.

Within the United Kingdom there is a devastating lack of effective, specialist services to meet the needs of children, young people and families impacted by trauma, abuse, and neglect.

Our mission at MCTS is to provide bespoke therapeutic and mental health services that are ethical and trauma-informed.

Our values

  • Collaboration
We work together and value everyone’s ideas, skills, and experiences. No matter our role, we all have a voice – it’s an “everybody approach”.
  • Curiosity
When challenges arise, we stay curious, not furious. We assume positive intent, ask thoughtful questions, and create a safe space to learn, make mistakes, and ask for help.
  • Creativity
We encourage fresh thinking and flexible approaches. Creativity helps us find new solutions and bring energy, joy, and individuality into our work.
  • Connection
Relationships are at the heart of everything we do. Connection builds trust with each other, with our sector, and with the people we support, creating an environment where everyone can do their best.
  • Communication
We communicate openly, clearly, and respectfully. We use people‑first language, share ideas freely, and keep our mission visible in the way we speak and act.

Statement of purpose

Our purpose at MCTS is to create safer, more connected lives by providing trusted psychological assessments, therapy and mental health support for children, adults, families, carers and the professional teams around them. We specialise in trauma, neurodevelopmental difference and therapeutic care, helping people make sense of complex needs and build the relationships that support recovery. As a Social Enterprise, we work alongside individuals and organisations to move toward stability, resilience and hope.

What our partners say

Training feedback

Alistair spoke so therapeutically that I felt I could benefit from therapy myself. This topic resonated really well with a case of mine which allowed me to look at the behaviours of the individual and how these topics would fit in.

We now have an external MCTS clinical team working alongside us to build brighter, healed futures for our young people. MCTS provides in-depth formulation plans, evidences progress, and guarantees transparency to external professionals.

Assessment & Therapies feedback

Just wanted to say the client spoke really highly of you and the work you did together and even said he’d have continued the therapy if he could! It seems to have really helped him.
Feedback for Alastair from Senior Social Worker

The outcomes with the young person have been incredible and the risks are significantly improved. She is now off a DOLS and on track for family reunification or independent living in the near future.

Training feedback

This training has helped me to understand that it is essential for us to adopt a trauma informed lens, recognising that challenging behaviours, silence or intense emotional reactions are often survival strategies rather than deliberate resistance.

In 2022, we saw 9.9% fewer placement breakdowns in an ATIC-supported service, compared to one without.

Training feedback

We found a course beneficial and informative and we have already booked for the next sessions.

Expert witness feedback

I acted as a Litigant in Person during the process. My point of contact, Kate, responded promptly and courteously to all my enquiries. I received a professional and well-prepared expert report within the promised timeframe and at a competitive price. Overall, the service was efficient and clear.

This was incredibly helpful. I identified with so much of what was said, it was very much appreciated.
Feedback from participant following session on Imposter Syndrome in January

Training feedback

This topic was confidently presented and I found it really interesting. I will definitely utilize the Blueprint questions as part of qualitative observations in my practice. It was good to reminiscence a bit from my experience studying psychology. Examples were very relevant and I felt engaged! Thank you very much, Hannah.
