Areas of expertise: 

  • Assessment and treatment of adults who present with psychological problems or mental health conditions and those who may pose risk to self and/or others.
  • Assessment of attachment and the impact of trauma and neglect. 
  • Assessment of parenting ability with respect to childhood and personal history, learning disabilities and personality disorder, mental health, substance misuse, anger management and sexual boundaries/abuse. 
  • Assessment of family dynamics and relationship issues, including domestic violence. 
  • Assessment of harm suffered by children or risk of future harm with respect to neglect and/or abuse. 
  • Assessment of separation and loss and sibling relationships. 
  • Assessment of the therapeutic and support needs of parents and/or children. 
  • Assessment of risk in suicidal/para-suicidal presentations. 
  • Assessment and therapeutic support for adult victims of violence and sexual violence, domestic abuse, sexual exploitation and trafficking. 
  • Family safety assessments: assessment of risk/vulnerability in the family context, parental functioning, risk to children and protective capacity. 

Experience: 

  • Experience working with clinical populations in inpatient and community settings. 
  • Provision of comprehensive psychological assessments, recovery-based outcome measures, and case formulations using the most appropriate psychological models. 
  • Risk assessments and formulation of risk, specialist advice to other professionals on psychological aspects of risk assessment and management. 
  • Development and provision of psychological programmes and therapies that address various psychological/mental health conditions based on appropriate conceptual frameworks and evidence-based practice. 
  • Delivery of psychologically informed care pathways across specialised services and settings: secure settings, high dependency rehabilitation and acute care, personality disorders and learning disabilities services. 
  • Management, leadership and consultancy: teaching, coaching and mentoring, clinical supervision and reflective practice, consultation to multi-disciplinary teams, governance and quality improvement initiatives. 

Bio: 

I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with extensive experience in the field of mental health. I specialise in helping individuals and families navigate a range of emotional, psychological, and interpersonal challenges. With a compassionate and evidence-based approach, I have worked with diverse populations, providing therapeutic support in private practices as well as clinical and organisational settings. 

Beyond my clinical work and established practice as a counselling psychologist, I am expanding my professional scope to become an Expert Witness in legal contexts, offering professional insight and expert testimony in cases involving psychological injury, forensic assessments, and matters of mental capacity. Known for my professionalism, reliability, and clear communication, I am adept at explaining complex psychological concepts in a way that is accessible to both legal professionals and laypersons alike. As I continue to expand my role as an expert witness, I am dedicated to advancing the intersection of mental health and law, ensuring that psychological evidence plays a critical role in achieving fair and just outcomes.
