- Extensive experience across neuropsychiatry, CAMHS, forensic and secure services, addiction psychiatry and older adult mental health
- Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator in dementia and Alzheimer’s disease research programmes
- Recognised GMC Clinical and Educational Supervisor with substantial undergraduate and postgraduate teaching experience
- Experienced in multidisciplinary leadership, service development, governance, tribunal work and medico-legal reporting
Bio:
I am a Consultant Psychiatrist and Section 12 Approved Doctor with extensive experience in the assessment and management of complex mental disorders. My clinical practice encompasses the care of individuals with severe and enduring mental illness, including mentally disordered offenders, patients presenting with significant risk, and those with co-occurring substance misuse disorders.
Alongside my clinical work, I am actively engaged in academia, postgraduate medical education, and clinical research. I am a GMC-approved trainer for postgraduate resident doctors and serve as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry, with a strong commitment to teaching, mentoring, and advancing psychiatric practice.
I am also a Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator in several clinical research studies, with interests in dementia and psychosis. My research focuses on improving the understanding and treatment of complex neuropsychiatric disorders through high-quality, evidence-based investigation.
